Elowah Falls, John B. Yeon State Park, OregonWhile on assignment at the Hanford site ( think Manhatten Project) in the 1990's, I traveled throughout the Northwest in search of beauty and grandeur. After a short hike at the John B. Yeon State Park along the Columbia Gorge in Oregon, I came upon the Elowah Falls. Then misfortune struck--I tripped and my camera was totally immersed. A total loss. But all was not lost--I kept a back-up camera and extra film (in those days) in my car. I had to get the shot. So down the mountain I went, and up the mountain again. I will never forget that.
